I have a question about gel nails and regular polish: If I get hard gel overlay on my nails and I then want to wear my regular nail polish over the gel, can I use 100 % acetone to remove the regular polish or will that dull the shine of hard gel/gel top coat? I don’t like none acetone removers because they usually smell bad and leave residue.

A question re the base gel you used: must the base gel be the same brand as the builder gel you used to create the extension? Or does that not matter? And if we use a base gel brand which is different from the builder gel brand, will this affect the integrity/quality of our extension?

Liz, I have never used tips. Just started using dip powder after 30 years of sculpting acrylic nails. I would like to use a gel to form a tip then use the powder dip method. Do I need to use a base on the edge of the free edge before using the gel?

Celina ryden says in Europe the apex is placed further back and that helps with strength especially if you have you have to go a while between fills. Where do you place your Apex is it more in the middle?? I love this video I always come back to it.

Can you use a regular nail polish over a gel extension and use a gel top coat to seal it in?

Where can I buy professional nail gel kits (fiberglass preferred) as a non professional? I’m living in Europe. Love your videos!

Absolutely love all your videos, and this series! Old timer Nail Tech here (licensed in 2001 & now lapsed) who has been doing nails since 1985. Now I’m learning to do gel (I love the new gel products) for myself, and you are a great teacher. Keep up the great videos + I love all the technical information in your videos.

These videos are SO SO SO incredibly helpful! You have no idea. I recently started doing my own nails because the salon that I was going to has changed ownership and staff so many times that I was just sick of "training" them how I wanted my nails done or how I wanted them to look when they were done and, even though I've had enhancements for 20 years on and off, I'm a beginner at doing my own nails so, thank you. These videos help A LOT!

Do you have full- or mostly-cover pinks that are as self-leveling as the Akzentz Trinity or Light Elegance One-Step gels, or is that not possible with so much pigment?

This is irrelevant to this particular video but Is there a gel color that can be applied with one coat? I’ve seen people apply gel colors with one layer with an “overlay” type method. This method cannot be used with all gel colors right?

Hi Elizabeth! I have a quick question about gel top coats. Even though I applied all my gel polish and top coat correctly, the top coat is dull. It clears up when I wipe but gets dull again in a few seconds. What is causing this and what can I do to troubleshoot?

I like this practice tip : do not cure the gel…wipe it off, put it back in the jar and do it again. We can practice the application multiple times that way 😊

Another fantastic video! My technique is getting better and better and I actually think I could do this as a career, not just a hobby. I'm good at this and much of that is because of your channel and how detailed you are in your instruction. As always, I look forward to the next one!

Why does it feel like my nail beds are on fire when I place under the lamp? Once I place the gel on my nail beds it burns like crazy. I have not overfilled as I barely scratched the surface.

Thanks a lot once again Liz!Those videoa are really helping me out!❤I've got 2 questions!
1.The different viscosity gels you're using should be from the same brand so that they are compatible, right? 🤔
2.You've mentioned before that some gels are too rigid for nails that tend to bend easily and as a result they'll start separating from the nail plate and eventually chip…Does this apply only when talking about overlays or extensions as well?In the first case(overlays),should we just be more careful with the product application on the free edge and encapsulate it perfectly,or do we have to use a gel that's less rigid since either way it will chip? 🤔

You are a Godsend! You have no idea how helpful this series is. I've been so discouraged because I feel like I'm not getting it, but this helps so much. I can't wait to see how to properly finish file because that's where I mostly mess up. I always leave too much product and after I polish, the nail is super thick and I can't file it down without ruining my design and having to start over.
